The BRHA is a neighborhood association of voluntary residents who work together to preserve the historic residential character of our neighborhood. Formed in 2004, we've been working hard to enhance the quality of life by protecting our community from excessive growth, inappropriate development and other encroaching activities that may negatively impact the wonderful and delicate fabric of Black Rock/St. Mary's By The Sea.
The BRHA is dedicated to keeping a watchful eye on planning and zoning regulations, proposed modifications and historic rulings. In addition, the BRHA provides a unified and respected "voice" at City Hall and its affiliate departments ... i.e., the historic commission, parks and recreation, finance committee, etc. We also interact closely with the NRZ (Neighborhood Revitalization Zone) Committee plus other neighborhood associations to ensure that accurate communication is properly disseminated throughout the community to educate and establish a thorough understanding of concerns and issues.
Our volunteers donate hundreds of free hours each year. The more support we have (through a growing membership base), the stronger our voice becomes to ensure successful achievement of our mutual goals and interests.
We continue to use best practices and represent the opinion of the membership to those interested parties so we can effectively shape a positive future for everyone to enjoy ... please join today!
